Accuracy analysis of the wave gear with a disk wave generator

The accuracy of the wave gear with a disc wave generator is first analyzed. The accuracy of the wave gear was the subject of many theoretical and experimental works in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s. Many of these works studied wave gears with cam and roller wave generators. Furthermore, flex splines were cut in an undeformed state onto round mandrels. This paper deals with wave gears with low-inertia disc generators. The flex spline is cut in the deformed state simulating its actual form in the designed gear engagement. Fourier series is used to analyze manufacturing and assembling errors in the wave gear with a disc generator and their influence on the wave gear kinematic accuracy. The inward nature of improving the wave gear accuracy is revealed. The results of research can be used to improve the accuracy of drives with wave gears.
