In the report the results of researches devoted to synthesis of highly effective designs self-braking planetary drives, containing non-pole gearing of braking structures are submitted. The synthesis provides allocation in the field of existence of planetary drives of a subarea of self-breaking and search in this subarea of optimum parameters of a design. Is shown, that the task of maintenance of self-breaking of planetary drive in the given position is reduced to definition of angles, ncsessary for it, of an inclination tooth in non-pole gearings. The conditions of existence of two variants of self braking of planetary drives of the most widespread types are found.
