Finite element procedures for calculating plastic flow of orthotopic materials having different tensile and compressive yield stresses in case of nonuniform heating were developed. Influence of elastic anisotropy on numerical implementation of the state update procedure at a Gauss point was studied. The tangent matrix was obtained to ensure a quadratic rate of convergence of the Newton method used for solving finite element equations.
