This paper describes the transient vibration of a rotor on fluid-film bearings. The model consists of a simple unbalanced rigid disc-shaft rotor and a hydrostatodynamic bearing. The rotor speed is time dependent to simulate startup processes. The system of motion equations includes the momentum equation. The driving moment is described by a simple expression. The fluid-film force is defined by integration of 2D Reynolds and the energy equations. The results of numerical calculations are presented in graphical form and discussed.
