Straight-tooth rotary pumps are an efficient solution for various hydraulic systems, combining simplicity of design with high performance. They are particularly effective in systems where a combination of high pressure and good suction capacity is required. The paper attempts to substantiate the feasibility of designing a new design of a straight–tooth rotary pump using vortex hydrodiodes as distribution organs. The paper presents a new design of a vortex hydrodiode, its mathematical model, and the results of numerical and experimental studies. A comparison of the results of theoretical studies and the results of experimental studies has been carried out, which showed that the diode capacity of the designed hydrodiode is higher than 1.5. The maximum deviation of the numerical experiment from the full-scale experiment is observed at a pressure of 160 kPa and is equal to 4.6 percent, and the average error does not exceed 5.5 percent. Thus, the verification of the adequacy of the developed mathematical model for the finite volume method showed that the mathematical model is adequate and can be used to calculate the work processes in the developed hydrodiode.
