The paper investigates the effect of increasing the modulus of elasticity and ultimate strengths of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) applied in largesize load carrying structures of radome shells and rocket chambers. It is shown that in order to obtain the maximum effect, the improvement of the mentioned characteristics should be performed in coordination. Optimal combinations of the requirements to the advanced CFRP have been analyzed using the particular examples.
