Assessment of effect of armoured vehicle crew lower extremities position on injury prevention during mine explosion

Recently, when designing military armored wheeled vehicles a lot of attention is paid to the crew survivability during a mine explosion. Today there are many ways aimed at solving this problem. One of them is to use a footboard to protect lower extremities of the crew from an impact during a mine explosion. The article assesses the effectiveness of this measure by the finite-element analysis.
