Particular features of finite element modeling of silencers elements

The influence of particular features of creating the silencers elements finiteelement models on the assessment of their acoustic characteristics, the socalled transmission loss, is examined on the example of a partition in the channel and a short expansion chamber. Different ways of dividing the computational model into finite elements have been considered and the dependence of errors in the transmission loss assessment on the finite elements maximum size has been analyzed.
