The review of researches in the field of profiling and technological support of explosion engines pistons is presented. The basic tendencies of constructions development are marked. The outputs which have defined a circle of problems, subject to the decision for reaching a purpose of lowering mechanical losses by profiling and modifying the lateral area of the piston skirt are drawn.
