Method of fault identification in a diesel engine using model that accurately simulates the diesel combustion process is offered. Results of experimental inspection of this method, obtained for the drive 4VD 12,5/9 (4ch 9/12,5) of a diesel plant at the refrigerator wiling stock, are observed.
