The article deals with the problem of determining the tungsten electrode optimal geometry during plasma spot welding (PSW). The durability of the electrode tip along with the gap value between the welded parts highly determine the PSW-welding stability. An integrated assessment of the tungsten electrode durability after 500 cycles has shown that it is expedient to use the alloyed tungsten electrode. Moreover, it is desirable that an electrode tip should be dulled and sharpened at an angle of 20...30°.
