Estimation of Output Parameters of High-Precision Machining on CNC Machine Tools

The introduction of new CNC machine tools for high speed machining is one of the most promising trends in machine-building. When commissioning it is necessary to ensure the desired accuracy and productivity. Modern CNC systems are not able to entirely compensate inaccuracies of the machine tool and its equipment, which influence on the accuracy of processing. The paper considers the method of automated assessment of the CNC high speed machining accuracy. The method is being developed by the «Metal-Cutting Equipment» Sub-Department of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Based on this method the software for CNC systems is being developed. This software makes it possible to realize the processing accuracy prediction function according to the product model accuracy parameters, which is obtained when modeling the CNC machine tool operation taking into account the errors of its parts. The radial runout values of the assembled tool items and the machine tool precision are given. The calculation and experimental scheme to determine the assembling and setting up error of the tool holder is provided.
