Study of Possibility for Vibrodiagnostics of Medium Diesel Generators

Ecological characteristics got the particular importance while creating a new generation of piston engines. Vibration and noise characteristics of the newly created or modernized thermal diesel generators determine in many respects the quality of the latter. The article describes the possibility for vibrodiagnostics of medium diesel generators in the case study of diesel generators 16ЧН26/26, produced by JSC «Kolomensky Zavod». Diesel engine aggregates: rotatory mechanisms (turbo, gear drive, oil and water pumps, crankshaft); reciprocating mechanisms (crank and piston-cylinder units); and the other components (fuel pumps, fuel injectors, generators, etc.) vary in mechanical stress. A wide variety of simultaneous processes during a diesel engine operation significantly complicates the collection and analysis data of vibration due to the presence of a large number of harmonic and random components in the signal. The developed experimental studies have confirmed the basic feasibility of medium diesel engines monitoring.
