Fatigue of elements of machines and apparatus is the main reason of their destruction and loss of efficiency. Many elements are produced from steels of authtenitic type. Plastic deformation is used in the technology of producing these elements. It changes the elements strength greatly because of riveting and alteration of material microstructure. Comparative analysis of modern well-known methods of determining the limit of strength is carried out. A new method of determining strength limit of authtenitic steels subject to plastic deformation with the help of their magnetic properties is suggested.
