The most important problem of modern transport engineering is to improve fuel economy characteristics. One of the ways to solve this problem is to increase the number of drive stages in gearboxes including automatic transmissions. Most automatic transmissions are constructed to use planetary gears. The synthesis of kinematic diagrams of such mechanisms is a time consuming problem. To solve this problem, the elements of angular velocity plans are formulated, which makes it possible to synthesize kinematic diagrams of planetary gearboxes with seven forward gears. It is shown how to transform the elements of angular velocity plans into the plans themselves. The results of research will be useful for professionals involved in the development of planetary gearboxes, as well as for students studying wheeled and tracked vehicles.
