Reasons of no monotonic dependence appearance between the cutting speed and stability of tools are analyzed. It is displayed, that one of the probable reasons of extremeness of these dependences is a process of outgrowth formation on a cutting edge which protects from deterioration and raises resistance in certain ranges of cutting speed.
