Reznik S.V. (b. 1947) graduated from the Moscow High Technical School n.a. Bauman (Bauman MHTS) in 1971 with a degree in aerospace engineering. He received his Candidate of Sciences. (Ph. D) degree from Bauman MHTS in 1977 and his Doctor of Sciences degree from Moscow State Technical University n.a. Bauman (Bauman MSTU) in 1997. He started his work at Bauman as an engineer in 1971, then a research associate and an assistant professor in 1977, he became an associate professor in 1988, and a professor in 1998. In 1993, he founded the Advanced Aerospace Systems and Defense Conversion Technologies laboratory in the Research Institute for Special Mechanical Engineering at Bauman MSTU. From 2008 he has been the head of Rocket and Space Composite Structures department at Bauman MSTU.
His current research interests include mathematical modeling and parameters identification of radiative-conductive heat transfer for the design and thermal testing of composite material and structures. Prof. Reznik focuses on developing unique and innovative solutions for deployable onboard antennas, reusable space vehicles for space tourism, large space structures for orbital stations and lunar bases, small satellites and space systems for space debris solution.
He has authored more than 350 publications in rockets and spacecraft thermal design, production and testing.
He has supervised 25 Master’s, 15 Candidate of Sciences’, and 3 Doctor of Sciences’ degrees. He is the member of 3 Dissertation Councils and Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation expert in aerospace engineering.
Prof. Reznik is a visiting professor at Glyndwr University (Wrexham, Wales, UK). He has been a member of organizer and scientific committees in over 30 international conferences, symposiums and workshops.
He received Bauman MSTU scientific awards twice and was recognized as an Honoured Worker of High Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2007). He received a special award «Gagarin» from the Federal Space Agency (2012), and an «Award for Merit to Bauman University» (2013).
