Cyclic mechanisms are widely used in automatic machines, robotic devices, piston machines, and other devices used in various industries. When developing machines of this type, special attention is paid to reducing the speed fluctuations of the initial link caused by variable loading and the kinematic features of the cyclic mechanism. This article investigates a method for reducing the drive link rotation irregularity, which involves installing a transmission using non-circular gears between the motor and the initial link of the actuator. A force analysis of the gear-lever crank-slider mechanism of a piston compressor is conducted. The stress-strain state of the non-circular gears is investigated, and the finite element model is verified by comparing the reactions in kinematic pairs obtained using force analysis and the finite element method.
