The article says about various systems improving traffic safety of different vehicles, including articulated lorries. It is pointed out that the feature of most existing systems is the correcting nature of their action. In other words, they start working when a situation has become critical. At present there is a tendency to develop active safety systems preventing in nature, which are capable not just to correct behavior of a vehicle (an articulating lorry) at an early stage of critical situation, but to prevent such situations. There are shown basic factors influencing the preventive active safety system action and their interrelation by the example of a multi-trailer lorry motion, which should give occasion to develop a flowchart of such systems using means and sensors complex proposed in this article.
