CNC machining centers are widely used in metalworking. Increasing the productive capacity of CNC machining centers is very relevant in modern machine-building, especially where low volumes of parts are machined. However, there is no unity on how the productive capacity should be evaluated. The traditionally used criteria cannot be applied to multiproduct manufacturing and its limited resources. The authors propose a system of criteria and methodology that allows them to evaluate the machining center productive capacity invariantly to the object of manufacturing and assessment situation. The productive capacity is regarded as a measure of efficiency of using manufacturing resources when performing technological operations. An integrated, formal criterion is described that is suitable for evaluating the efficiency of the technological solutions used in the machining centers. The proposed system can be used for the optimization of the structural and parameter characteristics of the manufacturing operations performed on CNC machining centers.
